About
Jes is a Chicago-area native with a degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa. From a young age, Jes has been an avid reader, writer, and dreamer. She’s also a small artist appreciator, a budding bourbon connoisseur, an accidental poet, and a lover of fuzzy socks.
When she’s not wandering the great outdoors, you can find her acting as a somewhat responsible adult and always as a loving mother. She says she writes every day and hopes the stories she creates will resonate with those who find curiosity in the changes life throws our way.
Her debut novel, Time for Once, is an adult coming-of-age story about love, acceptance, and the mistakes we all make while in the process of growth.
Hi, I’m Jes …
… a perpetual blusher (not shy, just painfully awkward), and a habitual coffee mug breaker. I’m quiet but goofy, or so I’ve been told, and like to think my slight wit and low-key sarcasm even out my giggly nervous side.
I’m a big fan of Rebecca Serle and Penny Reid, adore the power of a simple quote delivered in very few words, and wish I could speak as openly as I write.
“Don’t set yourself on fire, trying to keep others warm.”
— Penny Reid
